Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ~ Heb 12:2

R.I.P Sophie

Don’t worry, no person has died.  But my beloved ultra low rise Sophie jean from Delia’s has been discontinued.  Something like this happening is akin to your beloved hairdresser moving out of state.  They might as well move out of the country or die for all you’re concerned.  A replacement will have to be found.  The joy is gone.

I wrote about my love for Sophie jeans during BigMama’s Spring Fashion Fiesta 2008.  I know ya’ll understand the value of a great fitting  jean, so it should come as no surprise that when I found them I bought them in every wash and length possible.

After finding out they were being discontinued, I was crushed.  I knew the day would come when I would need to replace my worn out Sophie jeans but where would I go, who would I run to?  The agony of shopping for the right fitting jean is too much to bear so I would put it off until I couldn’t any longer.

Delia’s must have sensed my pain.  Last week I got an email from them announcing that just for trying on a pair of jeans I would receive a $10 “gift” (which is really a credit to use towards buying anything in the store).

It was the perfect time to find a replacement for Sophie.

So I kidnapped hubby and my friend Brittaney and took them to Delia’s with me yesterday.  Long story short, I got 2 pair of jeans that were on sale BOGO50% off.  My $10 “gift” was applied to my order and I also earned a $25 off $50 coupon for shopping in September.  Yay me!

So who replaced Sophie?  Bailey and Taylor.  They aren’t as low rise as Sophie, but low enough.  (I’m really short-waisted, so low rise is way better for my figure).

And just an FYI, I don’t wear Converse with my skinnies, I wear heels or boots.  Converse aren’t my style :)

Do you have a favorite jean?  If so, tell me about them and why they’re your favorite.

Ugh, that blows! Nothing like pissing you off more when they get rid of a ol' faithful.

I personally like old navy.. It sucks and tucks all the baby lumps. :)

Dear Anon~ I'm not in TX, but close enough. I was born and raised in the south so I wouldn't have it any other way.
As far as the jeans, it's super hot here, but I wear them anyway, mainly at night. I am not a big fan of shorts.

OK Trina here goes... mine post baby were basically ALL Citizens of Humanity and Joe's Honey Fit. Well now after having Henry and the weight gain and after loosing 98% of the weight and the lovely Henry lines that I have I am not able to wear my low rise jeans that I have 15 pairs of. They fit but low rise just is not going to be in the card until a tummy tuck ;(! Anyway I am not able to pay that kind of money anymore for jeans and I know that I would love to have the Honey fit of Joe's that are a higher cut. Which leads me to a pair of jeans I found for you women out there who have had children and have those momma lines.... they are called KUT from the Cloth you can find them at Nordstrom's and sometimes Belk's has them and if you are very lucky you can find them at Stein Mart. I have found three pairs of $98 jeans and the cost for the first pair was $49, second $29, third $19. ;) I have become very very cost conscious so as I said if you are looking for a great jean and you really don't want to look style but just can not do the low rise any longer I would check into KUT from the Cloth!
