Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ~ Heb 12:2

Help me Process

For my birthday my mom got me this food processor at my request.

image

I was giddy at the thought of making my own peanut butter and other equally cool things.  But I’ve had it a month and I’ve not used it once.  Not because I don’t want to, I’m just a little intimidated.

I’ve never used a food processor before and I’m not even sure where to start.

That’s where ya’ll come in.  I need some help: suggestions, recipes, tips, etc.  Whatever you got that will get me going and help me make the most out of my fabulous birthday gift.

Please share in the comments, I would love to hear from you!

Ooh, I love homemade salsa fresca! That's what I make in my cuisinart, especially in the summer.

3-4 vine ripened tomatoes
1/2 cup cilantro (or more to taste)
1/2 onion
3-5 jalapeno slices
lemon juice to taste
salt to taste

Yum-o!

I got a food processor three years ago as a wedding gift. I have used it maybe a dozen times. I love it, but I hate cleaning it. We grew pumpkins last year and I used the food processor to make it more like pumpkin pie filling.

Happy Birthday and enjoy your present.

Pesto, pesto, pesto, Trina!

It's easy, just basil, olive oil, peccorino romano, pine nuts (though it can be made without them for people with nut allergies), salt, pepper and a little lemon. Voila! You have a dip, sauce, topping... whatever you want it to be!

Love,

Food processer? Is it like a computer program for dinners? If it belongs in the kitchen - I'm of no use to you!

Anxious to see what you come up with!

The only thing I use mine for is to chop onions so that they don't make me cry.

Oh yeah! And to make Tomatillo Salsa like the stuff I'm OBSESSED with at Moe's!!

Tomatillos
Garlic
Red Onions
Cilantro

...I think that's all! And I taste it until it's right...

As I am not the cook in our household, all that I can do is wish you luck!

Try my monster pudding.

2 bananas
1 avocado
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (or vanilla extract)

Mix together in blender. Serve right away.

The kids will love it and not realize how good it is for them.

we use it for lots at this house, for choppin up the carrots for a simple carrot and raisin side dish, for chopping walnuts anytime you need walnuts, for shredding zuchini to make bread, for cranberries for mom's famous cranberry salad... infact almost everything in the cranberry salad goes through the processor on "chop"

oh, how I love the food processor! YOu can make your own salsa, pizza dough, bread dough, shred veggies, it does just about anything your knife will do. You can even make soups in it. If you had a baby I would say you could make baby foods, the possibilies are endless. Do you have mini one? They are not so intimidating, quicker, easier clean up and great for small tasks!

I got one as a wedding present and have not used it much. I do have a great hummus recipe, but don't have it with me. Let me know if you want it. The only other thing I have done with mine is chop veggies. Dishwasher safe items are my friend!
