Some would say I’m a bit of a pack rat. I hate to get rid of stuff because I might need it one day. Clothes are no different, I keep them too thinking I could give it to someone or make it into something else, which I mentioned yesterday. Most of the time it never happens.
This is why my closet was getting out of control! I wasn’t even able to slide hangers over to hang things up. This usually resulted in me hanging things on the knobs of hubby’s dresser, which he was not very fond of :)
So Sunday afternoon while Jonathan took Xander to the movies, I tackled the closet.
Here is the before:
When I was done I had 4 garbage bags full of clothes and 2 shopping bags full of shoes. This photo only shows 3 bags, but once hubs got home, we starting cleaning out his stuff too and I added another bag full of mine, and 3 bags of his. By the end there were 7 bags of clothes!
Now finally I can hang my clothes in the closet without resorting using hubby’s dresser as a clothes rack :) I’m sure he appreciates that!
Sliding room and extra hangers!![]()
Hubs even refolded all his work tshirts!
We donated all the clothes/shoes to Hope for the Nation.
Feels good :)
Are you due for a de-stash?

Good for you!!! I know that's alot of work!!!! And what a blessing for the charity to get all your clearing outs!
Wow! Good job! We have been slowing working on ours. Jonathan the Clean Sweep guy on HGTV said a good way to go through your closets is to turn all your cloths hangers backwards. Then when you wear something hang it back the correct way. In six months you will know what you wear. It’s slow, but it’s working!
Isn't is such a great feeling when you are all done!! I love that feeling!
Great job!! I am terrible about keeping EVERYTHING too. . . I did this not too long ago and it did feel really good - just a slight bit of sadness! :)
Wowzers!
I am wishing that I lived next door so I could raid your stash. I'm sure you would never even have noticed!
It looks great now, and I bet it took forever. Those kinds of projects always do.
